These images are from a project that I designed for Paws Crossed Animal Rescue. I went into the shelter to photograph the dogs and cats that were up for adoption. My intention was to capture the personalities of the animals in the hope that potential adopters could see them as pets that could be a loving addition to the family. I used black and white images on a black background because I felt that it was more effective at focusing on the personality and soul of each animal. I wanted to raise awareness of the wonderful dogs and cats available for adoption in shelters through a photographic gallery that we presented at a few different venues in the area. I am happy to say we raised money for the shelter, made benefactor and veterinary connections and found homes for these pets. I enjoy using my photography to do projects with a purpose. My next project will be to save the bees.
